In the 1960s and 1970s, the SCCA Trans-Am Series had a special sex appeal to car racing fans. Legendary drivers did battle in one of history’s most competitive race series, and the cars were the most popular muscle cars ever built.

Late 1960s and early 1970s Camaros, ’Cudas, Challengers, Javelins, and Mustangs were heavily modified by major teams such as Penske or Bud Moore and duked it out on road circuits, such as Laguna Seca, Lime Rock, and Bridgehampton. Those brutal machines are now some of the hottest commodities in the high-priced muscle car collector market.

Friends Ross Myers and Terry Bookheimer have developed a talent for seeking out and purchasing the Ford products that competed in the early SCCA Trans-Am Series. They started buying these cars in the early 1980s, before they became popular, and have since developed quite an impressive vintage racing team. These cars have been restored and race regularly at vintage events throughout the United States.
